x (twitter)

posts from x (twitter) with their photos, videos, gifs, quoted posts and threads.

on this page
  • x.com/name/status/…
  • twitter.com/name/status/… (twitter links are saved as x posts, and old twitter posts in your library are renamed to x)

save one post

  1. in x, open the post and tap the share icon under it.
  2. choose share via… and pick postpalm, or choose copy link and paste it with add link.
  3. if the post has both words and media, postpalm asks how you want it saved (below).

whole post or just the media

when a post has both words and photos or a video, the share card asks how should it look?:

  • save the whole post: the words, with the photos or video underneath, in a clean reading layout with the poster's picture, name and handle at the top.
  • just the video (or just the photos): the media fills the card, like a photo or video post from another platform.

you can switch later from the three dots menu. a post with only words is saved as a text card. a post with only media is saved with the media.

what gets saved

  • the post's words, and the poster's name, handle and profile picture.
  • every photo, and videos with their sound.
  • gifs: x sends gifs as short looping videos. they play silently on a loop. you can save one to your photos as a real gif.
  • a quoted post inside a box, with its own photos or video.
  • the poster's own thread (when they continued the post), folded behind show threaded replies.
  • the card for a link in the post (its title, site and picture).

videos inside quoted posts

tap a video inside a quoted post to open it full screen. an add to home button there lets you keep it as its own post.

what is not saved

  • likes, reposts and other people's replies.
  • posts from protected accounts, and posts that were deleted.

troubleshooting

  • the post saved as words only: the media may no longer be available. open the post on x to check.
  • the poster's picture is missing: postpalm fills it in later when it can.
important

only save posts you have permission to keep, and follow x's terms of use.
