guide/introduction

what is postpalm?

postpalm keeps the posts you save from the apps you scroll in the palm of your hand: right on your iphone, ready to open any time, even with no signal.

the name

post + palm. the post is the thing you saved. the palm is where it lives: in the palm of your hand, on your phone, one tap away. postpalm exists so the posts you care about are never buried in someone else's app, and never lost when a link breaks or a post is taken down.

the problem

posts disappear. people delete them, accounts get closed, links break, and the video you wanted to show a friend is gone. the apps that host them also need a connection to show you anything.

the solution

share a post to postpalm and it keeps its own copy on your phone: the photos, the videos, the words, and who posted it. your saved posts live in your own library that you can search, favorite, sort into folders and open offline.

key features

  • share to save: use the share button in another app, or paste a link into postpalm.
  • works offline: everything you save is stored on your phone and plays without a connection.
  • photos and videos: every photo of a carousel, videos with sound, and the post's words and poster.
  • your own feed: switch between a list and a 2 or 3 column grid, search, and filter by platform.
  • favorites and folders: heart the posts you love, and group posts into folders in your library.
  • private posts and folders: hide posts, and lock folders behind face id.
  • wishlists: share a product link from any store and keep its photos, name and price.
  • make a gif: turn up to 10 seconds of any saved video into a real gif.
  • cloud backup (paid): back your library up to a private cloud and restore it on a new phone.
  • native design: built for iphone, with light and dark looks.

how it works

when you save a post, postpalm reads the public post, downloads its files to your phone, and adds it to your library. you get a notification when it is done. if a save can't finish, for example because your connection dropped, it waits in your library and tries again by itself.
